In the framework of a nation-wide consultation process the French Ministry of Education has brought up for discussion new texts concerning the Primary School program. These projects do not correspond to the hopes kindled by the speech given by the French Minister last 29th January (see news item from 8/5/2001). The coordination team “Ja-ling France/Porte des Langues” takes part in this debate:

In
a speech done on 29 January 2001, the French Minister of Education announced
new objectives for the “2nd cycle” of Primary School (last year of nursery school
and two first years of Primary School). These objectives are very close to those
developed in the Jaling Project…

of the Evlang project and his reactions to the speech done by the Minister last
29 January.
