Evlang Symposium at the ARIC Congress 

(September 2001)

The ARIC  (Association for Intercultural Research) held its congress in Geneva from 24 to 29 September 2001 on the topic : Intercultural research and practices . New spaces, new complexities ? 

During this congress a symposium on Evlang was held where the following topics were presented: 

• General presentation of the EVLANG programme (Michel Candelier, Université du Maine)

• Evlang and the development of the pupils’ attitudes and savoir-faires
  (Sophie Genelot, IREDU - Université de Dijon)

• Creation and use of didactic materials for language awareness in Primary Education
  (Sandrine Aeby, IRDP - Neuchâtel) & Dominique Macaire, Université René Descartes - Paris V)

 

• Pupils and teachers in the Evlang programme: performance and incidences (Frédéric Tupin, LCF UPRESA 6058 CNRS - Université de la Réunion)

• Evlang and the creation of plurilingual and pluricultural competences (Daniel COSTE, ENS Lettres et Sciences Humaines, Lyon)

• Assessment of Evlang and future prospects in the field of educational linguistic policy (Michel Candelier)
  

Sandrine Aeby, Michel Candelier, Sophie Genelot, Dominique Macaire and Frédéric Tupin worked within the framework of Evlang. Daniel Coste participated as  a  « respondent ».
